AGRA/FIROZABAD: Five people, including three teenagers, were killed when the driver of their speeding tractor-trolley lost control of the wheel and the vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch filled with mud in
Firozabad district in the early hours of Tuesday. Ten other people on the trolley were injured and shifted to Saifai and Ghiror government hospitals.
The victims were on way to Shikohabad-based Balaji temple. The
accident took place near Nagla Nathua village on Aunchha-Jasrana road close to Firozabad-Mainpuri district border, police said.
According to police, three tractors carrying 25 villagers each from Asrauli village under Kurawali police jurisdiction and Mekapur village under Dannahar police jurisdiction of
Mainpuri district were heading for Shikohabad.
One of the tractors turned turtle and plunged into a ditch trapping all the victims in the mud.
After the accident, local police of Jasrana rushed to rescue the victims along with an ambulance.
The three teenagers who died were siblings Palak Kashyap (12) and Mayank Kashyap (8) and Ajaypal (15), The other two victims were identified as Dhanpal (50) and Upendar Kashyap (30). The victim’s bodies were sent for post-mortem.
