A driver accused of causing the death of a motorcyclist in a road crash will face a crown court trial next year.
Aled Lloyd Jones, 24, of Ffordd Tyrpeg Uchaf, Llanddoged near Llanrwst denied causing the death of Tony Lawson by careless driving when he appeared before a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court.
Mr Lawson, 27, of Wallasey died following the incident on the A5 at Betws y Coed on July 9 last year.
Jones was said to be driving a Mitsubishi vehicle at the time of the incident.
During the brief six-minute hearing Jones spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and nationality.
He listened while barristers discussed the exchange of documents and arrangements for a trial which is expected to last five or six days.

Adjourning for trial Judge Timothy Petts said the first available date for the hearing was April 1 next year.
He warned Jones to attend or the trial may take place in his absence and he would be committing a separate offence.

Jones was granted bail until the trial.
Members of Jones' family sat in the public gallery. There were members of Mr Lawson's family in court as well.
