Central Government’s flagship scheme Ayushman-Bharat yojana was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi in Jharkhand. In the city scheme was inaugurated by energy minister Paras Jain at Charak Hospital on Sunday. The two main pillars of scheme are to install 1 lakh health and wellness centre and to provide 5 lakh per annum insurance cover to 10 crore families

Jain asserted that government is working for the poor section of society. This scheme will provide medical benefits to poor and unorganised sector workers. Those who are left can get themselves registered under Mukhyamantri Jankalyan Sambal Yojana to avail the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana as well, he said. Mayor Meena Jonwal, MLA Mohan Yadav, pharmacy council president Om Jain and UDA chairman Jagdish Agrawal also expressed their views during inauguration. Collector Manish Singh was also present on the occasion.
Chief medical and health officer Dr ML Malviya asserted that the scheme will cover 2 lakh families from Ujjain district. Beneficiaries will get medical facilities in government hospitals, government medical colleges and listed private hospitals. 22 primary health centre (PRI), 2 sub-PRI, 1 civil dispensary will be selected and developed as health and wellness centre. 1350 serious diseases will be covered under the scheme, he added. Dr Sandeep Nadkani anchored the programme and CMO Dr ML Malviya proposed the vote of thanks.
