In what could be termed as a setback for the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), some youth from Malkapur village have reportedly rejected to pass unanimous resolution to vote for the ruling party.
Incidentally, the village falls in Gajwel constituency being represented by TRS supremo and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He has launched Kanti Velugu programme from this village. Food Corporation chairman G. Election Reddy was one of the party leaders who was entrusted with the responsibility of taking up the party campaign. He met the Chief Minister at his farmhouse on September 7 before the latter addressed a public meeting at Husnabad, the second campaign meeting by the ruling party.
As part of campaign, Mr. Reddy visited the village on Saturday with a motive to get a unanimous resolution passed in favour of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao that the entire village would vote for TRS. He was in the village to participate in Vinayaka Nimajjanam programme. After performing puja, he made this proposal but some youth openly opposed it.
The villagers made it clear to the TRS leader that they would take decision only after discussions and that there is no need for Mr. Reddy to intervene. With the strong rebuke, Mr. Reddy made a fast retreat from the village.
Later, he went to Konayipally and reportedly put a WhatsApp message stating that a unanimous resolution was passed in favour of the TRS. Within minutes, some of the villages responded angrily stating that no such resolution was passed.
