Brett Kavanaugh faces second allegation of sexual misconduct
White House continues to back Supreme Court nominee despite new accusation

Donald Trump’s pick for the US Supreme Court is facing another allegation of sexual misconduct, after a second woman came forward accusing him of thrusting his genitals in her face at a drunken party at Yale University in 1983.
The woman, 53-year-old Deborah Ramirez, told the New Yorker that she remembers seeing Kavanaugh pulling up his trousers after seeing “a penis being in front of my face”, during a drinking game at a dormitory party on campus.
Ramirez also recalled someone shouting “Brett Kavanaugh just put his penis in Debbie’s face” after the incident, the New Yorker says.
In a statement, Kavanaugh wrote: “This alleged event from 35 years ago did not happen. The people who knew me then know that this did not happen, and have said so. This is a smear, plain and simple.”
The Guardian reports that the White House has continued to back Kavanaugh despite the second allegation, saying it is a “coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats designed to tear down a good man”.
