Kanu Priya bats for protesting students

PATIALA: The protesting students in Punjabi University, Patiala, got support from the newly elected president of Panjab University Campus Students Council (PUCSC) — Kanu Priya.

The students have been protesting over their demands, especially extension of hostel entry timings for round the clock whereas the university administration is not convinced with this demand. The girls are being fined for late entry, including Rs 100 per hour, till 11 pm in girls hostel.

While addressing students, Kanu Priya demanded opening of the girls hostel for 24 hours and claimed that the same demand would also be raised in Panjab University too. She said that the Punjabi University should take initiative by meeting demand of the students and should become the first university in the state to implement the opening of girls hostel round-the clock.
