India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2018: Pakistan fan reveals the real reason why he sang the Indian national anthem


India and Pakistan cricket rivalry is one of the oldest and cricket fans are mad when the two arch-rivals come face-to-face on the field. And a moment during an India vs Pakistan match in ongoing Asia Cup has gone viral on social media and it’s touching every India-Pakistan cricket fan. A video of a Pakistani fan singing the Indian National Anthem during the country’s match in Asia Cup is doing the rounds and it’s enough to give you goosebumps. The man is identified as Adil Taj, who was among the thousand cricket enthusiast who attended the match on Sept 19. In the video, the man can be seen donning the Pakistani flag while singing ‘Jana Gana Mana’.

Taking to Gulf News, Taj said that he had goosebumps when he first heard the Indian national anthem through a Bollywood movie and his move to sing the song was a small gesture of peace from his side.

“I am a big Bollywood fan. I heard the Indian national anthem in the Hindi movie, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’. One of the scene about the national anthem was so emotional, it gave me goosebumps. From then onwards, I tried to learn the anthem when it was sung before any cricket match which India was playing,” Taj quoted in Gulf News report.

Talking about last India vs Pakistan match, riding on centuries of skipper Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, India beat Pakistan by 9 wickets to book ticket to finals. Dhawan was named ‘Man of the Match’ for his amazing knock of 114.
