The USCIS till December 25, 2017 has approved 1,26,853 applications for employment authorisation for H-4 visa holders. This is inclusive of all approvals since May 2015, initially there were includes 90,946 initial approvals, 35,219 renewals along with 688 replacements for lost cards.
Congressional Research Service said in its recent report, based on information obtained from the USCIS mentioned that 93% of the approved applications for H-4 employment authorization were individuals born in India and five percent were issued to individuals born in China. The remaining two percent of approved applications were for individuals born in all countries.
