Bhopal : “After agencies like the STF, SIT and the CBI have found no stain on the image of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Vyapam case, the Congress, it seems, needs to set up its own probe,” this was said by minister for public relations, Narottam Mishra.
He said this while replying to the allegations of Congress in Vyapam scam. Mishra claimed that the former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh had filed a petition in a bid to damage the image of the Chief Minister. Digvijay Singh had moved court for political reasons before elections.
Mishra in a satirical tone said, after all agencies of the country were probing the Vyapam scam, it was only the ‘Congress Committee’ which was left and it may also initiate an inquiry. Mishra said Congress had put these allegations on all fronts after 2013. He claimed that Congress was trying to make the court its medium to release its frustration. Mishra said recently the Supreme Court had advised a Congress leader in the dumper case not to bring election matter to the court.
Mishra said Congress, by taking the matter to court despite CBI conducting its probe, shows its acceptance of defeat. Mishra said Congress leaders had tried everything in the Supreme and High Courts.
Mishra asked why they would remove the name of CM from the excel sheet and plant name of any other Congress leader. He said Congress abused CM and levelled allegations. Mishra said Congress should tighten its belt and gear up for the polls instead. He said people in democracy are the biggest decider.
CBI gave false affidavit in SC, claims Sibal
Bhopal : The CBI had presented a false affidavit in the Supreme Court in the Vyapam case and tried to save Madhya Pradesh chief minister. This allegation was made by senior lawyer and Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Saturday in Bhopal.
Sibal and senior lawyer and Rajya Sabha member Vivek Tankha were here for the recording of statement of chief applicant Digvijay Singh. After receiving a setback in the Supreme Court in Vyapam case, Congress has filed a fresh private complaint in court of special judge Suresh Singh.
Later talking to the media, Sibal said that all the investigating agencies, including SIT (Special Investigation Team), STF (Special Task Force) and the CBI conspired and worked to save the CM.
These investigating agencies right from 2013 were working to save names mentioned in the excel sheet that includes former CM, Uma Bharti and prominent ministers. “After these developments, we lost faith in investigating agencies completely and had to approach court,” said Sibal.
While mention of CM was removed but name of Uma Bharti was not removed, he added.
