Aisha M. Shariff, professor in B.N. Bahadur Institute of Management Science (BIMS), took charge as the sixth acting Vice- Chancellor of the University of Mysore on Saturday. Dr. Shariff, professor in Human Resources in BIMS, University of Mysore, assumed charge in her capacity as the senior-most dean.
After K.S. Rangappa demitted the office of the Vice-Chancellor in January 2017, the university has seen a total of six acting Vice-Chancellors. Meanwhile, the State government, after Governor Vajubhai R. Vala rejected the panel of names recommended by the H.P. Khincha-headed search committee, has decided to reconstitute the committee.
