HISAR: The state vigilance bureau arrested three policemen on Saturday for allegedly trying to extort money from an investor of a Hisar-based firm on September 20. The bureau said head constable Bharat Singh, head constable Vinod Kumar and constable Anand were produced in court, which sent them in two-day police custody.
Earlier, a resident of Hansi town of Hisar, Manish, was arrested while accepting the alleged bribe for the accused, after the vigilance bureau laid a trap for him on September 20.

Police said the cops were booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code, on a complaint by Ravi Kant Sharma, a resident of Shiv Colony in Hisar, on September 20.

Sharma had alleged that two policemen abducted him in a police vehicle with a blue beacon on the night of September 18. He alleged that the cops took him to Hansi, Jind and Kaithal and assaulted him before dropping him at Jind. He alleged that the cops told him that he had earned a lot by investing in the Hisar firm and demanded money from him on the threat of implicating him in a false case.
