The JD(S) MLAs showed their unity at the legislature party meeting in Hassan on Saturday.
Of the 37 MLAs, 35 were present at the meeting that went on till late in the night. D.C. Gowrishankar and Narayana Gowda, MLAs, skipped it for personal reasons after informing Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy. According to JD(S) sources, Mr. Kumaraswamy and other senior leaders shared information on the alleged attempts being made by the BJP to destabilise the government.
Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda reportedly suggested to the Chief Minister to finalise appointments to boards and corporations in consultation with the Congress at the earliest. He also stressed on the need to maintain unity in the party.
