Bangalore Political Action Committee launches sixth Civic Leadership Incubator Program batch

Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) launched the sixth batch of B.PAC Civic Leadership Incubator Program (B.CLIP) in an event at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavana on Sunday. B.CLIP is a flagship initiative of B.PAC that selects, trains and supports talented individuals who wish to transform their city by contesting municipal corporation elections.

During a panel discussion on “Role of grass root civic and political leaders in governing Bengaluru city,” the panel members unanimously highlighted the need for community building efforts and citizen involvement in governance.

Addressing the new batch, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, President, B.PAC, asked all B.CLIP participants to be brand ambassadors of political integrity. She lauded the victory of BCLIP Alumna Sowmya Reddy on becoming the MLA of Jayanagar constituency and urged her to be the brand ambassador of BCLIP.

Members from B.CLIP Alumni Associate shared plan of action to work with the citizens at wards. B.CLIP civic leaders expressed their commitment to constructively engage with citizens, elected representatives and civic agencies, officials in their neighbourhood to demonstrate positive action on the ground.

The last five batches has trained 204 civic leaders who are spread across 115 wards of Bengaluru are actively working in their neighbourhoods. According to a press release, B.CLIP sixth batch has selected passionate and committed citizens to undergo B.CLIP training over the next nine months. These participants represent all political parties and many independents too.
