GURUGRAM: Police are looking for the operator and the IT head of a fake call centre in Udyog Vihar, which was busted on Friday. TOI had reported about the arrest of six persons, including a woman, from the call centre. On Saturday, the arrested persons were produced in a city court and sent to judicial custody.

According to police, the call centre was operating without any permissions and the accused duped mostly American nationals on the pretext of providing e-loans. The arrested persons revealed that they had a set language for calls — “Hi, we are calling from E-loan finance and how are you doing today? The reason of my call is to inform you that your loan has been approved”. They also told police that Ankit Chaudhary, the owner, never visited the call centre and Amit Kumar was their IT head.

“The operator and the IT head who are absconding. We hope to arrest them soon,” said ASI Subhash Bokan, a spokesperson of Gurugram police. TNN
