Centre making all efforts to improve healthcare system in Odisha: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that central government is making all-out efforts to improve healthcare facilities in Odisha so that the people from the state need not go to other places for treatment.

Addressing a rally after launching the commencement of work for revival of Talcher fertilizer plant in Odisha, Mr. Modi said government has given Rs. 570 crore for medical colleges in Balasore, Baripadi, Bolangir, Korapur, Puri and Rourkela.

Prime Minister said Centre is spending Rs. 360 crore for modernisation of medical colleges in Cuttack, Burla and Behrampur.

Mr. Modi appealed Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to implement Ayushman Bharat project to be launched across the country on Sunday.

The Prime Minister said more than ten crore poor people will get health insurance for Rs. five lakh under the scheme.
