Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Is One Green, Lean, OTT Machine

Lamborghini’s latest creation, the Aventador SVJ, bears a lot of distinctions. First, it’s the fastest production car in the Nurburgring – and, given the calibre of the opposition, that says a lot.

Then, it’s the swan song for the Aventador, which has been with us since 2011, and also the going away party for that glorious naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine.

The Aventador’s replacement will still have an internal combustion engine, most likely a V12, but it will also feature some form of electrification, which will make it cleaner as well as faster.

Now, the V12 is still here, so let’s enjoy it while we still can in the brand’s ultimate expression of track performance with street homologation. It sports lots of upgrades over the regular Aventador, including the ALA 2.0 active aerodynamics, rear-wheel steering and plenty of other work that contribute to the outstanding handling.

The SVJ’s bodywork looks like it can cut you every time you go near it, and the interior follows the same pattern, more or less. Carbon fiber and Alcantara trim adorn the cabin, alongside the fighter jet-style switches, and while there may not be room for your bottle of water or coffee cup, you’re going to have a lot of fun putting the Aventador SVJ through its paces.
