COIMBATORE: The rural police registered a case against BJP national secretary H Raja on Friday for tweeting five months ago that DMK MP
Kanimozhi is an illegitimate child . The Tirupur rural police also registered a case against him on the same day for hate speech against Dravidar Kazhagam founder and social reformer Periyar EV Ramasamy.
Raja took to
Twitter on April 18, after seemingly provoked by the tough questions posed to governor Banwarilal Purohit from journalists at a press conference held on the previous day. He wanted to know whether journalists will have the guts to ask such hard questions to Karunanidhi. His tweet, however, did not mention
Karunanidhi and Kanimozhi. DMK functionary K Velusamy of Unjapalayam in Kaniyur had lodged a complaint with Karumathampatti police against Raja.
Meanwhile, police registered a case against Raja and four others for not following the Madras high court order and allegedly using derogatory words against the court and the police department during the Ganesh chathurthi celebration. He was booked under Section 500 and 501 of the
Indian Penal Code.
Tirupur rural police registered a case against Raja after Dravidar Kazhagam state legal wing secretary Prabhakaran lodged a complaint with Udumalpet police.
