The sell-off in the markets on Friday was mainly due to an edginess among investors, according to Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash chandra Garg. In an interaction with Arup Roychoudhury and Indivjal Dhasmana, Garg also said that the rupee’s normal level should be 69-70 to a dollar, a 1% widening of current account deficit should not be such a big deal, and that a list of non-essential items to curb imports will be out next week.
