Mumbai: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), in a bid to revive the organisation in the State, has called for ‘continuous improvement’, taking inspiration from the Japanese word Kaizen.
Party’s State unit president Jayant Patil on Thursday wrote a letter to all workers spelling out the future course of action of the NCP and clarifying that the party will be giving prominence to young faces through leadership roles.
“Japan follows the theory of Kaizen, which is behind the prosperity of that country. We will be implementing that principle within our party to bring continuous development,” he said in the letter.
Mr. Patil also said, “I am aware that I and my colleagues will have to devote extra time for the party. There will be a number of changes. The party will be giving opportunity and responsibility to clever, hard-working, and efficient activists on priority.”
“It will be ensured that young men and women without any political background get a chance to work. Individuals with criminal background will not be tolerated,” he said.
Mr. Patil’s letter comes five months after he took up the reigns of the State unit and announced new appointments at district and State level.
The party also focuses on building the organisation at booth level. “We leaders are not the centre point of the party, but the activists who are working at the booth level,” he said.
