VARANASI: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped before being brutally murdered inside her house in a village under Rohania police station on Wednesday night.
Angered over the incident,
local natives blocked Rohania-Adalpura road and staged a massive demonstration. IG Varanasi range VS Meena, district magistrate Surendra Singh and SSP Anand Kulkarni reached the village and assured the villagers that no guilty in this episode would be spared. The girl, a student of class-V, lived with her mother and two brothers in the village. On Wednesday afternoon, her mother had gone to visit her parents in other village. While the children were alone, they took diner and went to sleep.
The elder brother went to the roof top to sleep while the girl and her seven-year-old brother slept on a cot inside the house. At around 3am, the elder brother noticed cries of the girl and asked the reason for it. However, on getting no answer he went back to sleep.
When their mother returned on Thursday morning she found the girl’s nude body lying in a pool of blood and a sharpedged weapon lying at some distance. She raised an alarm after which hundreds of villagers gathered there.

Amit Kumar reached the spot immediately while forensic experts and dog squad was called there. The police have recovered empty liquor bottles at some distance while some suspected persons were also taken under custody for interrogation.
