Share market update: Nifty Realty pack slips over 1%; Godrej Properties, IB Real Estate weigh

NEW DELHI: Strong losses in shares of Godrej Properties (down 5.82 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (down 3.27 per cent) and Housing Development & Infrastructure (HDIL) (down 1.95 per cent) dragged realty pack down in Friday's session.
The Nifty Realty index was trading 1.22 per cent down at 255 around 12:33 pm.
Shares of Sobha (down 0.77 per cent), Brigade Enterprises (down 0.72 per cent), Oberoi Realty (down 0.66 per cent) and DLF (down 0.57 per cent) too were incurring losses.
However, Unitech (up 1.64 per cent), Phoenix Mills (up 1.36 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects (up 0.09 per cent) were up at that time.
Positive global cues and rupee's recovery against the US dollar gave a boost to sentiment at home.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 51 points at 11,286, while the BSE Sensex was up 203 points at 37,324.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.
Indian Oil Corporation, Axis Bank, Bharti Infratel, HPCL, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India and BPCL were leading aong Nifty stocks.
YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra and Hindustan Unilever were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
