Man murdered for pulling up molestor in Botad

RAJKOT: Confronting a man, who was daily molesting his friend’s daughter, has led to a brutal murder of a 31-year-old in Botad town.

Victim Matra Mori was repeatedly stabbed by the accused Krushnapalsinh Gohil and his accomplice Mahendrasinh Gohil locality on Botad-Gadhda Road late on Wednesday evening.

Police said that Krushnapalsinh used to often stalk the girl on his motorcycle and pass lewd comments. She had complained to Mori as he was her father’s friend. The girl’s father had died several years ago. Mori had even taken up the issue with Krushnapalsinh twice in the past and there was bitter altercation between them.

However, this did not deter Krushnapalsinh who continued to go after the girl and harass her.. On Wednesday evening, when the girl again complained to Mori, he confronted Krushnapalsinh and left from there. Enraged over being reprimanded, Krushnapalsinh and Mahendrasinh chased him on their his bike and overtook his two-wheeler.

“Armed with knives, they stabbed Mori six to seven times. Mori was rushed first to a private hospital in Botad and then to Botad Civil Hospital, where he was declared dead on admission,” said an official from Botad police station, adding that a manhunt was launched for the accused.

Both the assailants are on the run after the murder.
