Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Children are learning cookery skills in a workshop being held at Jawahar Bal Bhavan. Participants learned to make nutritious and tasty dishes at the cookery workshop held here on Wednesday at Jawahar Bal Bhavan.
Informing about the workshop, Director of Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Umashankar Nagaich said that every Wednesday, the cooking workshop is organised for the children by Department of Home Science.
In this workshop, the participants learn to cook different dishes with nutritious value. He further said that such workshops also help the youngsters to cook and prepare these dishes at home.He also said that different workshops by different departments are regularly organised by Jawahar Bal Bhavan.
The workshop is organised by Department of Home Science for the youngsters so that they can learn to cook nutritious food. Here on Wednesday, the participants learned to cook nutritious porridge. As many as 30 children were the participants of the workshop on Wednesday.
Subject expert Nisha Sharma told that the oatmeal is a great option for breakfast and dinner. She further told the participants that the porridge is nutritious only if it is mixed with vegetables and then doubles its taste and nutrition.
While explaining the method to cook a perfect and tasty porridge, Nisha said that it is prepared according to method. Explaining the method, she also demonstrated as well.
While demonstrating she told the participants that in order to make it, porridge, carrot, tomato, ginger, green chillies, potatoes, peanuts, green coriander, bins, salt to taste, water, oil are used.
