It's been 25 years since we've had a Sister Act movie - and now finally star Whoopi Goldberg has given fans a much needed update on the future of the franchise.
Premiering in 1992, Sister Act became one of the most financially successful comedies of the 1990s.
It followed Deloris Van Cartier, played by Whoopi, as she joined a convent as part of the witness protection programme.
Known for its gospel tunes and comedic storyline, the film resulted in a sequel in 1993 titled Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, with Whoopi reprising the lead role.
The franchise has since been adapted into a popular musical, which has featured a number of talents as Deloris, notably X Factor winner Alexandra Burke.
Fans have been speculating for some time as to whether a third film would be made, with Whoopi herself believing a Sister Act 3 would happen just last year .

Speaking at the time to Yahoo , she even proposed the possibility of being the film's director.
This week the 62 year old actress and talk show host revealed some news to Good Morning Brtain's Kate Garraway.
Discussing the star's collection of awards and the #MeToo Movement, Kate also probed Whoopi about Sister Act 3's future.
Whoopi explained: "So we've been all over Disney begging".
"And they've decided that they're going to go in a different direction with Sister Act".
The actress confirmed that: "It won't be Sister Act 3, it'll be a brand new rendition of Sister Act".
The announcement comes following comments made by the star last year, when she said.
The Ghost actress did however hint that she would be appearing in the reboot saying: "I guess I'll walk through a scene, and that's how they'll say I was part of it".
