Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while dedicating the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College in Vidisha today said that the benefit of Medhavi Vidyarthi yojana for higher education will be provided to students of all the sections of the society. He further informed that 29 students of Medical College- Vidisha have been benefitted under the scheme.
Mentioning about the efforts being made to provide better medical and health facilities in the state, Chouhan said that proper arrangement of doctors in rural areas are being ensured. Hospitals are being equipped with necessary resources.
He informed that all the facilities and medical treatment arrangements have also been made for patients in the hospital of the newly constructed Medical College. The Medical College constructed at a cost of Rs. 356 crore approximately has 750 bed hospital. Adequate arrangement for the treatment of serious and incurable illnesses has been ensured in the hospital, he added.
Medical College equipped with ultramodern facilities
The newly constructed 750 bed hospital of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College of Vidisha has special intensive care units equipped with the ultramodern facilities for medical treatment of patients suffering from serious illnesses. As many as 10 doctors will render 24 hours services in these units.
The Medical Council of India has given an approval to begin the Medical College with 150 admission capacity in Vidisha Medical college. The admission process for students of the first batch has been completed. Post Graduate degree and Diploma course in different faculties of the medical college will be started after about 3 years. Facilities like modular operation theatre and blood bank have been made available in the medical college too.
Patients suffering from serious illnesses, not only from Vidisha but from Ashok Nagar, Raisen, Ganjbasoda, Sironj, Lateri, Guna and Bina will get better medical facilities with convenience at this Vidisha Medical College. Medical treatment facility will be made available to about 2000 patients daily by the outpatient department of the college.
During the programme, Anshul and Ankit Soni donated body of their father late Umesh Soni to the college. The Chief Minister Chouhan honoured 53 Loktantra Senanis of Vidisha district with tamrapatras in the dedication programme.
The Minister of State for Horticulture Suryaprakash Meena, Member of Parliament Laxminarayan Yadav, MLAs Kalyan Singh Thakur and Veer Singh Pawar, President of Nagar Palika Mukesh Tandon, President of Jila Panchayat Toran Singh Dangi, Chairman District Cooperative Bank Shyam Sunder Sharma, other Public Representatives, ACS Smt. Gouri Singh, Commissioner Health Smt. Pallavi Jain, Dean of Medical College D.K. Pal and students were present on the occasion.
