2015 LaFerrari Fails To Sell On Online Auction Despite $3.1 Million Bid

A wide variety of cars are routinely sold on Bring A Trailer but for the most part, they’re all relatively affordable. In recent days, however, the website went into overdrive as a pristine 2015 LaFerrari was put up for sale.

The LaFerrari in question was purchased by the dealer who was selling it two years ago for an undisclosed sum and has just 95 miles (152 km) on its odometer. The car was also offered for sale with all maintenance records from new, factory books/accessories, a clean CarFax and a clean California title.

It’s unclear why the dealer decided to list the hybrid hypercar on Bring A Trailer, but it is a highly-desirable example. Not only does it have minimal miles under it’s belt, is it also painted in Ferrari’s iconic red and features five spoke alloys, red brake calipers, and bright red leather throughout the cabin. There’s absolutely no doubt that the vehicle’s value will rise monumentally in the coming years.

Interestingly, professional wrestler John Cena was handed the keys to this LaFerrari earlier this year for an episode of his Auto Geek show on YouTube. While he didn’t drive it very far, or very fast, he was very impressed.

Power is provided by a naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V12 that pumps out 789 hp. The internal combustion engine is paired with a 161 hp electric motor that brings the total figures to 950 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Sending the power through the rear wheels is a lightning-quick, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

By the time online bidding on the car closed, the reserve hadn’t been met, despite a top bid of $3.125 million. While that’s a lot of money, we have seen LaFerraris go for much more than that, so it’s reasonable to assume the seller was expecting a considerably higher figure.
