MADURAI: Police have launched a search for a 46-year-old man in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu who allegedly sexually abused and impregnated his 14-year-old daughter.
The family lives in a village near
Colachel, and the girl is studying Class XII at a government school in the locality.
The girl’s mother was shocked when she came to know that her daughter was eight months pregnant. The police quoted the girl as saying that she was afraid to tell about it to her mother as her
father threatened to kill both.
Based on a complaint lodged by the mother, the Colachel all-woman registered a case against the man under different sections the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and 506(i) and the Indian Penal Code.
The accused was absconding, police said.
