Man arrested after multiple vehicle crash on Anzac Bridge
A driver has been arrested after allegedly causing a multi-vehicle pile-up on the Anzac Bridge during peak hour on Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to the bridge in Pyrmont just before 8am, to reports a Mitsubishi Triton ute had crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a number of other vehicles, a police spokeswoman said.
The driver of the ute was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said paramedics treated four patients at the scene, and one was transported in a stable condition to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
West-bound lanes of the bridge were closed while the crash was cleared, and all lanes were reopened by 8.45am.
A Traffic Management Centre spokeswoman said traffic in the area remained heavy, partially due to the morning's rain.
