Srikanth, Sindhu enter quarterfinals of China Open Badminton

Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu advanced to the quarterfinals of the China Open Badminton at Changzhou. Srikanth enters quarterfinal after a hard-fought 21-12, 15-21, 24-22 win over Thailand’s Suppanyu Avihingsanon.

Sindhu seeded third, came back from a game behind to beat Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand, 21-23, 21-13, 21-18. Saina Nehwal had bowed out in the opening round.

India’s campaign in mixed doubles end as Ponnappa and Satwiksairaj lose their second round match 14-21, 11-21 to Chinese pair of Zheng Siwei and Huang Haqiong.

Meanwhile, the Men’s Doubles pair of Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy and the Mixed Doubles team of N. Sikki Reddy and Pranaav Jerry Chopra made an exit today after losing their Round-of-16 matches.
