This is the first major update for the current generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift sedan is all set to be launched in India today and we'll be bringing you all the live updates from the launch event here. The facelifted C-Class range has already made its global debut, however, as of now Mercedes-Benz India will only launch the sedan version, which will soon be followed by the Coupe and Cabriolet body types, and their respective AMG versions as well. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift will come with updated styling, new features and more powerful engine options, and all of that will be revealed soon.

This is the first major update to the current generation C-Class and looks more mature and certainly classy like its older sibling, the S-Class. Competing against the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and the Jaguar XE, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift gets the new diamond-studded grille with the three-pointed star in the centre, while there are new LED headlamps with DRLs and a revised front bumper. Power on the C-Class facelift will now come from the all-new 1.5-litre engine, while the 2.0-litre diesel now makes more power. The engines are paired with a 9-speed transmission.

2018 C-Class India Launch - Is Mercedes Bringing In 3 Cars Today?
Mercedes-Benz has put out another teaser image for the new C-Class saying - "The stage is set and so are we. It’s about to begin."

Interestingly enough, we see silhouettes of three cars on the stage, so is Mercedes planning to launch the Coupe and Cabriolet version as well, or are they just 3 different variants of the Sedan?

Mercedes-Benz C-Class To Be Launched With A New Petrol Engines
The current entry level petrol C-Class, the C 200 will now come with an all-new 1.5-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder unit which will make more power at a rating of 184 bhp. Torque will be slightly lower though at 280 Nm as compared to 300 Nm that the current powerplant makes.

It replaces the older 181 bhp 2-litre petrol engine.
