Homes had to be evacuated after a blaze broke out at a house.

Firefighters were called to Woodland Drive in Flint just after 5pm on Wednesday.

The property was said to be well alight when the three fire crews arrived at the scene.

The blaze started between two carports and spread to the house.

It is understood the occupants managed to escape without injury but two cats were killed in the blaze.

A neighbouring property was also damaged by the flames.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known but Wales and West Utilities were called to isolate a gas pipe leading to the home.

Today, yellow barriers were in place blocking access to the house.
