Prominent scientist and Director, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Kamlesh Nilakanth Vyas, has been appointed Secretary, Atomic Energy, and Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission for a period till he attains the age of 64, which means till May 3, 2021. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared his name for the post following which the Department of Personnel and Training issued the notification.
In another top appointment, a 1985 batch IAS officer, Anindo Majumdar, has been appointed Secretary of the Central Vigilance Commission.
