The PSA Group has confirmed that it will offer an electrified version of every new model developed by its five brands – CitroënDS, Peugeot, Opel and Vauxhall – from 2019 onwards.

The French company will offer a fully electric or hybrid version of each new model, with 15 new electrified machines due in the next two years. These include plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions of the DS 7 CrossbackPeugeot 3008Peugeot 508Peugeot 508 SW and Opel/Vauxhall Grandland X.

Peugeot’s PHEV system will be offered in two versions, with up to 300hp. There will be a four-wheel drive system that features PSA’s 200bhp 1.6-litre Puretech petrol engine with two 80kW motors, powered by a 90kWh battery. A two-wheel-drive version features a 180bhp version of the Puretech 1.6 with one 80kW motor and an 80kWh battery.

Both powertrains will feature an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Peugeot says they will emit less than 49g/km of CO2 and provide an electric-only range of up to 31 miles. The batteries can be charged in one hour from a fast charger.

As well as those eight PHEV models, Peugeot will produce seven fully electric cars, including the recently revealed DS 3 Crossback E-Tense SUV.

The PSA Group has focused its models around two platforms, named CMP and EMP2, which are both designed to accommodate internal combustion, hybrid and full electric powertrains.

New French luxury SUV looks derivative and lacks the completeness to easily justify its price. Despite that the DS7 Crossback is refined, fairly lavish and comes with some Gallic charm
