Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, On Day Two of three-day theater festival Srajan Mahotsav, Young Theater Foundation staged a play Saiyaan Beimaan at Shaheed Bhavan on Sunday.
The play shows how the children start ignoring their parents when they grow old. The children forget their responsibilities towards their parents as they chase dreams of a better life.
The play depicts a couple whose two sons live in different cities due to better salaries. The old couple rent half their house to a young couple, who give them love and respect.
Thereafter, the sons come home and want to sell the house for money.Dr Jittan, who is a good friend of the old couple, buys the house from their sons and gives it back to the old couple.
Towards the end of the play, both sons realise their mistake and apologise to their parents after seeing the gesture of Dr Jittan.
Saiyan Beimaan was originally written by Manoj Mitra in Bengali, and the Hindi translation was done by Santwana Nigam. Sarfaraz Hasan directed the 100-minute play with 17 characters.
Sarfaraz Hasan, director, said this play is a tribute to ‘tissue paper’. He said I am using the term tissue paper for the elderly and parents who are used and thrown by youngsters.
