Villagers thrash 65-year-old man to death in Bihar

ARARIA: A 65-year-old man was beaten to death Wednesday by two residents of his village in Araria who took exception to his entering their fields along with cattle for grazing, police said.

The incident took place in Vishanpur village under Raniganj police station area of the district where Sadanand Paswan was attacked with sticks by Sitaran Mehta and Harmu Mehta who owned the piece of land.

SHO, Raniganj, King Kundan said an FIR has been lodged in connection with the incident that followed Paswan entering the Mehtas' land along with his buffalo.

He was killed in the early hours and the accused will be arrested in due course.

Meanwhile, Paswan's body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
