MUMBAI: Central and Western Railways will run late night suburban trains during Ganpati festival.

CR midnight trains will be from September 18-22 to clear the extra rush. The slow train will depart CSMT at 1.30am and arrive in Kalyan at 3am, officials said. Harbour line commuters complained that no extra services were announced for them. WR will operate four pairs of trains between Chuchgate-Virar on the night between September 23-24. The trains will depart from Churchgate at 1.15am, 1.55am, 2.25am and 3.20am, and reach Virar at 2.50am, 3.32am, 4.02 am and 4.58am respectively.

A train will also leave from Virar at 12.15am and reach Churchgate at 1.52am. Subsequent trains will leave at 12.45am, 1.40am, and 3am.

Considering the heavy rush at Charni Road station due to Ganpati immersions on September 23, WR has decided that all Up fast trains which run from 5.30pm to 8.30 pm towards Churchgate on that day will halt at all stations between Mumbai Central and Churchgate, including Charni Road. Normally, during evening peak hours, these services do not halt between Mumbai Central and Churchgate.
