Three independent practice associations (IPAs) affiliated with Prospect Medical Group were awarded Elite Status on the America’s Physician Groups (APG) Standards of Excellence survey for 2018. APG (formerly known as CAPG) is the leading association in the country representing physician organizations practicing coordinated, capitated care.

The award-winning IPAs are Prospect Medical Group and its subsidiaries in California, which were honored for the seventh year in a row, and Prospect Provider Group of Rhode Island, LLC (PPGRI) and Prospect Provider Group of Texas, Inc. (PPGT), both of which won the award for the third year in a row. PPGRI is affiliated with CharterCARE Health Partners in Providence, RI, and PPGT is affiliated with Nix Health in San Antonio, Texas.

The annual APG survey is offered to more than 300 APG members in 43 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. This year, 122 medical groups, health systems and IPAs participated in the voluntary survey, covering 12.9 million commercial lives, 3.2 million Medicare Advantage lives, and 3.7 Medicaid lives. Participants earn their survey rankings based on their performance in delivering risk-based, coordinated care. Elite Status is the highest recognition awarded by APG.

The Prospect Medical Group IPAs are managed by Prospect Medical Systems, which develops, implements and manages a full range of support services. Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. is the parent company of Prospect Medical Systems.
