Mumbai, The Rupee on Wednesday smartly recovered by 60 paise to 72.37 on fresh selling of the US currency by exporters and banks.
With yesterday’s all time low of 72.97, the domestic unit jumped by 26 paise to 72.71 in early trade. Till the end of the session, it surged by 60 paise to close positive at 72.37 as compared to its last close.
Easing crude oil prices and weak Dollar against other currencies overseas helped the domestic currency to go up,broker said.
High fluctuation was seen during the day, as it registered day high and low at 72.87 and 72.34 respectively.
The Forex market will remain closed on Thursday for ‘Muharrum’ festival, broker informed.
