Kshitija strikes for Vidya Bhavan

Pune: Vidya Bhavan High School girls defeated Millennium National School 1-0 in the second round of the Under-14 category of the Zilla Parishad football tournament being played at the PDFA football ground in Dobarwadi on Tuesday.

Kshitija Nimhan scored the lone goal for Vidya Bhavan High School in the 8th minute. The Millennium girls tried their best to equalise but none of their shots made it to the Vidya Bhavan nets.

In another encounter of the day, City International School, Kothrud defeated Abhinav English Medium School 2-0.  Aboli Bandili (6th) and Prathana Prasad (18th) got on the scoreline for City International School.

Also registering a victory was The Bishop’s School, Kalyaninagar who defeated The Orchid School, Baner 1-0 to enter the third round.
Purva Bhagwat from Bishop’s struck in the 7th minute to help her team register the win.

Meanwhile, Gurukul High School, Range Hills defeated Nagarvala Secondary Day School with the score reading 3-1 in the tie breaker after the score was goalless at full time.

In the tie breaker Ovi Lodhi, Shriya Suryawanshi and Rama Deshmukh scored for Gurukul while Mehek Gupta scored of Nagarvala Day School.
