MYSURU: More than two dozen people took ill after consuming 'prasadam' during a Ganapathi visarjan in Nanjangud's Mallarajayyana hundi and Moodanahalli on Monday.
Over 50 people including children complained of vomiting and diarrhoea after consuming curd rice which was distributed after the immersion.

They were rushed to a hospital in Suttur.

"On Monday night we received information about the devotees taking ill after consuming curd rice. We deployed five ambulances to Nanjangud," said additional deputy commissioner of Mysuru T Yogesh.

The patients were later shifted to Cheluvamba and Krishnaraja Hospital in Mysuru. "All are out of danger," said Yogesh.
