Two dengue and one more swine flu patient in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: A mother-son duo from Rajajipuram were detected positive for dengue in the city on Tuesday while another man from Lalbagh was tested swine flu positive on the same day.

With this the tally of those who have been stung with the dengue causing female Aedes Aegypti mosquito to 71 persons, so far this year. There have been ten cases of swine flu in the city since January this year.

The 40-year-old mother and her 14-year-old son had both been admitted to King George's Medical University (KGMU) and were discharged on Tuesday. The 63-year-old male from Lalbagh who was detected swine flu positive was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mahanagar.

"The mother and son are recovering and have been discharged from the hospital. We are doing regular larvicidal spraying in the city and places where any patient comes up is taken up on priority. Family of the swine flu patient has been given the necessary medicine and has been made aware of the precautions to be followed lest the virus spreads," said incharge of the vector borne diseases unit of Lucknow distrcit, Dr KP Tripathi.
