The 2018-2019 season of the South Coast Chamber Music Series kicks off on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-23 in Marion and South Dartmouth with works by Bernstein, Beethoven, Brahms, and Bacewicz.

The program is titled “The Four Bs,” but artistic director Janice Weber gives this concert an A!

“Beethoven’s sublime String Quartet in C-sharp Minor and the Brahms C Minor Piano Quartet touch our souls, while Leonard Bernstein’s exuberant Piano Trio and violin fireworks of Grazyna Bacewicz’s Sonata da Camera tickle our fancy,” a press release about the concert states.

In addition to Weber on piano, opening weekend will feature Piotr Buczek and Julia Cash on violin, Don Krishnaswami on viola, and Timothy Roberts on cello.

Saturday concerts will take place at 4 p.m. at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, 124 Front Street, Marion, while Sunday concerts will take place at 4 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 351 Elm Street, South Dartmouth.
