Television legend Betty White was honoured at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards for her more than 80 years in show business, including several decades in television.
The 96-year-old star took the Emmys stage to a standing ovation.
White, who has eight Emmy Awards, reflected back on her seven-decades-long career in her speech.
"Somebody said something the other day about first lady of television, and I took it as a big compliment, White said.
"And then I heard her talking to her daughter a little later, and she said, 'First lady, she's that old. She was the first one way back.' "
She also gave special shout-outs to "Saturday Night Live" producer Lorne Michaels.
"I thought the biggest, most exciting night I'd ever had I'm talking to Lorne Michaels now was the night he gave me an honour, but boy you topped yourself tonight, Lorne."
The actor, known for her roles on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "The Golden Girls" and "Hot in Cleveland", said she feels "incredible" that she is still in the business.
"You are still putting up with me It's incredible that you can stay in a career this long and still have people put up with you. I wish they did that at home," she added.
