Three persons sustained minor injuries following a ruckus on a Shahpur Jat street in south Delhi on Sunday night after a transgender came looking for her partner who had been avoiding her. A vehicle was allegedly damaged in the incident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar said that they have not received any complaints in the incident. Action will be taken only if a complaint is lodged, the officer said.
Sources said that a transgender Dipali (name changed) came along with her two friends around 10.30 p.m. to meet her partner who was living with her till a few months ago. The person had not been in touch with her for sometime.
Dipali and her friends allegedly fought with the partner’s family and damaged the windshield of their car. She also allegedly stripped naked. However, locals gathered and allegedly thrashed them. A PCR call was made around 11.30 p.m. after which the three were taken to AIIMS for medical examination.
A local who did not wish to be named alleged that a few police personnel stood there watching until locals started thrashing the transgender and her friends.
