Car rams into six women going on foot to Pavagadh

VADODARA: Six women were injured after they were knocked down by a car on the road to Pavagadh on Sunday.

Women pilgrims Amita Chauhan (18), Bhumika Chauhan (14), Mamta Chauhan (42), Madhu Chauhan (40) and Amisha Chauhan (14), all from Kherap and Vavdi villages of Halol taluka, were going walking to the Mahakali Temple in Pavagadh. When they reached near Taplavav, a car coming from the opposite direction rammed into them.

Police said that after knocking the pilgrims down, the car driver lost control and vehicle veered on the roadside. He then fled leaving the car behind.

The injured were rushed to the referral hospital in Halol from where they were taken to SSG Hospital in Vadodara. Police registered a case of rash driving against the unidentified car driver at Pavagadh police station.
