Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday gifted a
gold ring to a newborn
boy in a
primary health centre in Chennai to celebrate the 68th birthday of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi.
BJP functionaries said they wanted to celebrate the birthday of Modi differently and decided to gift a gold ring to a boy born in the Chennai Corporation-run primary health centre in Thana Street at Purasawalkam on Monday.
Was BJP copying the tradition of the AIADMK gifts gold rings to babies born on Jayalalithaa’s birthday? Tamilisai said they were not copying the culture of the Dravidian parties.
The baby was born to Sri Dugra, wife of Sathish Kumar who is a driver. Sathish Kumar said, “We are happy that our son was born on Modi’s birthday. We will give him a name that starts with ‘Mo’ since he was born on Modi’s birthday.”
