Rain from the remnants of Hurricane Florence may bring a narrow swath of 4 to 6 inches of rain in a short period of time on Tuesday across much of Massachusetts.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for most of the state, with the potental for 2 to 3 inches of rain and possibly more in some spots. Flooding is possible in poor drainage areas and small rivers.

Only southern Bristol County, Cape Cod and the islands are outside the watch area.

The rain is expected from late Monday night through late Tuesday night. Northern Massachusetts is expected to see the most rain.
