The Aam Aadmi Party government decided to revamp its call centre for doorstep delivery of services after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal undertook a review meeting on Sunday.
The government had accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to derail the recently launched service.
Speaking at a press conference, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said the government’s call centre was receiving hundreds of calls from numbers with interactive voice response systems. These calls cannot be returned, he said.
‘At the right time’
The Minister claimed that mobile sahayaks were being called to addresses, where they were being asked to reschedule appointments multiple times. While Mr. Gahlot said details of the numbers will be shared “at the right time”, he claimed that people had admitted to receiving instructions to “disturb” mobile sahayaks.
“If the BJP hires one call centre to block our work, we will put up 10 call centres,” the Minister said.
After the review meeting, the Chief Minister had ordered the number of lines to be increased to 300, apart from which the number of executives will be increased from 40 to 600. Mobile sahayaks will be increased from 70 to 300, Mr. Gahlot said.
