The Welsh town of Llanwrtyd Wells is home to a very different - and muddy - event: the World Bog Snorkelling Championships.
Bog snorkellers have to complete a muddy course consisting of two lengths of a 55 metre trench.
The locals claim the race was invented in 1986 to attract visitors to the town - and it seems to have worked, with international visitors attracted by the eccentricity of this unique sport.
