PATIALA: The
Sangrur police on Friday arrested a cop posted in the chief minister’s security and another who is a member of the Special Task Force (STF) against drugs during a raid at a hotel in Sangrur. The two cops were found with sex workers and placed under arrest.
According to police, they had initially detained seven couples from the same hotel. After verification, four couples, who were either married or engaged to each other, were let off. Three couples were arrested and booked under sections 3 and 4 of Immoral Trafficking Act.
While, the Sangrur police has withheld the names of cops, they have confirmed that the duo was arrested from the hotel. Sangrur City 1 police station station house officer Ramandeep Singh said they have included the name of hotel owner Gurinderjit Singh in the FIR. Gurinderjit is the son of a former superintendent of police.
